Beadwork: Selene's Kiss

This piece is a commission for my friend.
It's lunnitsa (lunar charm), ancient Slavic amulet for women. Lunar charms originally were made out of metal, but nowadays beaded ones are popular, too.
This charm's design based on real ancient charms found by archaeologists and the colours and used materials are associated with Moon.

I used 6 kinds of TOHO seed beads, 1 kind of Delica seed beads, small pearls and moonstone cabochon. It's not a "real" moonstone (adularia), but a kind of albite with blue iridescence (you can see it on the bottom right photo). I don't know the English name for it, but in Russia it's called 'belomorite' ('the stone of the White sea').
